Bitesize ethics: Pandemic Ethics

This mini-series provides a short introduction to practical ethics, looking at some of the issues that concern philosophers and the public alike today.

The COVID-19 pandemic has pushed many existing ethical issues into sharp relief, and into the headlines. In this session, we will discuss how to think about individual contributions and responsibilities, what might factors go into prioritisation decisions
for access to vital healthcare, and how to balance population health against other values such as personal liberty in tackling the virus. 

Ben Davies is a Research Fellow in Responsibility and Healthcare. His recent research focuses on the ethics of healthcare allocation, the responsibilities of
patients and medical professionals, and ethical issues around discrimination.
